How It Works

ClauseVault turns your contract PDFs into a searchable knowledge base. Here's the process from upload to organized terms.

1

Upload your contract PDF

Drag and drop any contract PDF into ClauseVault. We accept files up to 10MB. Your files are stored securely and only accessible to you.

You'll enter basic information about the contract: client name and project type. This helps you organize and filter your contracts later.

2

AI extracts key terms

Once uploaded, our AI reads through your contract and identifies every important clause. Each term is extracted as a separate, searchable entry.

The AI automatically categorizes each term into one of these categories:

Payment
Scope
IP Rights
Liability
Termination
Confidentiality
Timeline
Deliverables
Other

Each term also includes the page number where it appears in the original PDF, so you can reference the source document when needed.

3

Add situation tags

This is where ClauseVault becomes uniquely useful. You can tag terms with the situations where they might be relevant:

  • • Payment Dispute
  • • Scope Change Request
  • • IP Rights Question
  • • Client Termination
  • • Delay/Timeline Issue
  • • Deliverable Definition
  • • Liability Concern

You can also create custom tags for your specific needs. When a situation arises, you search by tag and find every relevant clause across all your contracts.

4

Search when you need it

When a question comes up—a client disputing a payment term, a scope change request, an IP question—you search ClauseVault instead of re-reading contracts.

You can search by:

  • Text: Search for specific words or phrases across all your terms
  • Category: Filter by Payment, Scope, Liability, etc.
  • Tag: Find terms tagged for specific situations
  • Contract: View all terms from a specific contract

In seconds, you have the exact clause you need, ready to reference or quote.
